Iran denies reports of renewed US nuclear talks
Iranian Foreign Ministry’s official spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, has firmly denied reports of any agreed time or location for renewed negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
Addressing rumours suggesting a mediator other than Oman is involved in indirect talks, Baghaei dismissed them as “fake and fabricated” Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
He also highlighted other examples of false reports circulating in the media, including claims of a foreign embassy evacuation in Tehran.
Baghaei confirmed that diplomatic communication between Iran and the US continues through established channels — the Swiss Embassy in Tehran and the Pakistani Embassy in Washington — emphasising that the use of intermediaries for message exchange at various times is standard practice.
In addition, Baghaei issued a cautionary message to neighbouring countries, urging them to maintain strong relations with Iran and remain alert to attempts by Israel to exploit regional tensions.
While Iran does not accuse its neighbours of wrongdoing, Baghaei warned that Tehran is concerned about its neighbours’ territories being used by Israel to undermine Iran’s national security.
