Iran, Egypt explore measures to reduce regional tensions
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a telephone discussion on recent developments and the broader regional and international repercussions of what both officials described as the “illegal aggression of the US and Israel” against Iran, while reaffirming Iran’s right to self-defence.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s press office reported that during the conversation, Araghchi outlined Tehran’s position regarding the attacks and highlighted the decisive actions being taken by Iran’s armed forces to respond to the “aggression.”
Abdelatty shared updates on Cairo’s recent consultations with regional and international partners aimed at easing tensions in the Middle East.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and maintaining regular consultations between Iran and Egypt as a means of promoting regional stability.
