Iran has no plans to build atomic bomb, acting FM says
Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's theological conclusion on the inadmissibility of creating an atomic bomb remains unchanged.
Ali Bagheri Kani, the Islamic Republic's acting foreign minister, made the remarks, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
"This is a fatwa of the leader of Iran - the highest religious authority and at the same time the highest state official in Iran. Therefore, the orders and fatwas issued by him are binding on all [authorities] and no one can or will violate them," Kani revealed.
Bagheri Kani noted that Iran "is not going to go beyond" the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the NPT safeguards agreement between the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Islamic Republic on the nuclear issue.c
