Türkiye allocates military resources to 47 countries Amid growing defence partnerships
Türkiye has allocated military resources to 47 countries, continuing its rise as a major player in global defence exports.
Despite years of embargoes, Türkiye has successfully revived its defence industry and is now a key supplier of military equipment and training to both friendly and allied nations, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Türkiye is not only providing surplus military equipment but also offering training and logistical support to strengthen the armed forces of these countries. Ankara has been actively involved in helping organize and improve military operations, including logistical systems, for various nations.
In 2023, Türkiye allocated military resources to 40 countries, and the figure grew to 47 in 2024. The Turkish Armed Forces have transferred unused or surplus military equipment to meet the needs of these nations, bolstering their defence capabilities.
In terms of financial support, in 2024, Türkiye offered assistance amounting to $733,476 (27.8 million Turkish lira) without formal agreements. Additionally, as part of the Foreign Military Assistance Program, a total of $11.8 million (equivalent to 400 million Turkish lira) was deposited into foreign currency accounts at the Central Bank on behalf of the recipient countries.
Türkiye’s military assistance also includes comprehensive training programs for armed forces personnel, conducted both within Türkiye and in the recipient nations, further deepening international military cooperation.
