Russian FM vows to tackle root causes of Ukraine crisis points finger at Western influence
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that Russia reiterated its commitment to addressing the root causes of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which it claims was deliberately instigated by the West.
Lavrov made these remarks during a press conference following his talks with Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
He stated that Moscow provided the Vietnamese officials with detailed information about Russia's position on the current situation in Ukraine. He emphasised that Russia's efforts would focus on ensuring a resolution that goes beyond the immediate conflict, seeking to tackle the underlying factors that led to the war.
“We will continue to demand a resolution that addresses the root causes of this conflict, particularly the causes of its deliberate creation by Western powers who supported the unconstitutional coup that brought the Kiev regime to power,” Lavrov added.
Lavrov emphasised that during the talks, Russia expressed its gratitude to its Vietnamese friends for their consistent, balanced, and objective stance on the causes of the Ukrainian crisis and on the ongoing developments surrounding this issue at the current stage.
