Iran produces 20% enriched uranium at Fordow centrifuges

Iran has produced uranium enriched up to 20 per cent in centrifuges, which were recently installed at the Fordow nuclear facility.

The statement came from a representative of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), according to the Al Jazeera TV channel.

"We produced uranium enriched up to 20 per cent on a series of centrifuges installed at the Fordow plant," Al Jazeera quoted him as saying.

The AEOI representative added that the Iranian authorities "informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) about the injection of gas into a new series of centrifuges at least two weeks ago".
