Iran reports over 3,000 deaths amid US-Israel conflict
09 April 2026 14:14
Iran has confirmed that more than 3,000 people have died during the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel, Abbas Masjedi, head of Iran's Forensic Medicine Organization, told Mizan news agency.
“About 40% of the bodies could not be identified; however, using the capabilities and resources of the forensic medicine organization, they were identified and handed over to the families of the deceased,” Masjedi said.
The announcement comes as Iranian officials allege that the US has already violated three key points of a proposed peace plan. These alleged violations include attacks on Lebanon, incursions into Iranian airspace by drones, and restrictions on Iran’s right to enrich uranium.
