Iran's First Vice President Aref set to visit Armenia
Iran's First Vice President, Mohammad-Reza Aref, is scheduled to visit Armenia in the coming days.
This announcement was made by IRI President Massoud Pezeshkian on his social media account on X (formerly Twitter), per Caliber.Az.
“While the Foreign Minister and I engage with officials from around the globe in New York, the Minister of Economy is in Uzbekistan discussing matters with representatives of Asian countries. The First Deputy will also make visits to Pakistan and Armenia shortly,” the post noted.
Pezeshkian expressed hope that these trips would improve the lives of citizens, stating, “The Fourteenth Government is committed to political and economic diplomacy with the world, extending from west to east, from New York to Samarkand. We will engage with both the East and West based on our national interests, as promised.”
Mohammad-Reza Aref, 72, hailing from Iran's Yazd region, previously served as first vice president from 2001 to 2005 during Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's administration and was reappointed to the position on July 28, 2024.
