Kazakhstan seeks bigger US footprint in energy, tech and trade
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President Khush Choksy on July 2, reaffirming Astana’s intention to deepen engagement with the administration of Donald Trump, according to Akorda, the presidential office.
During the talks, Tokayev emphasised the strategic importance of trade, economic, and investment ties between Kazakhstan and the United States and confirmed the country’s readiness to strengthen constructive cooperation with Washington.
He also reiterated Kazakhstan’s commitment to maintaining a favourable investment climate for American companies operating in the country.
The two sides discussed opportunities to expand cooperation across a range of sectors, including critical minerals development, energy, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, transport connectivity, advanced technologies, agriculture, and financial services.
Choksy highlighted the strong potential for further growth in bilateral relations and expressed readiness to advance joint projects in several strategically significant industries.
