Iran’s foreign minister urges global condemnation of Trump’s threats
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on the international community to condemn recent threats made by U.S. President Donald Trump, warning that Iran is prepared to deliver a “decisive and regret-inducing response” to any act of aggression.
Araghchi sent a letter to foreign ministers around the world, describing the statements by the U.S. leader as a “blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
He referenced the joint U.S.-Israeli military operation against Iran in June 2025, asserting that the new threats signal Washington’s intent to continue an “unlawful and aggressive course.” Araghchi added that acknowledging U.S. involvement in attacks on Iranian civilians and nuclear facilities could bring “individual criminal responsibility” for American officials.
Araghchi also highlighted what he described as a “dangerous double standard” in U.S. support for Israel, which possesses nuclear weapons, warning that it threatens both regional and international security.
President Trump, speaking at a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on December 29, stated that Washington is open to dialogue with Tehran but that the “option of using force remains on the table.”
