Iran’s speaker mocks US Strait of Hormuz plan, warns of global fuel shock “Soon you’ll be nostalgic for $4-$5 gas”
Speaker of the Iranian parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has mocked a reported US plan to block the Strait of Hormuz, warning that Americans could soon long for current fuel prices.
Writing on X, Ghalibaf said: “Enjoy the current pump figures. With the so-called 'blockade', Soon you'll be nostalgic for $4–$5 gas.”
He accompanied the post with a mathematical expression, suggesting that disruptions in oil markets amplify broader geopolitical and economic effects.
