Iran says it will inform Russia if talks with US begin
Iran will notify its allies, including Russia, if it decides to pursue negotiations with the United States, an Iranian diplomatic source said.
Speaking to journalists, the unnamed source, cited by RIA Novosti, stated that Tehran intends to keep its partners informed should it move toward dialogue with Washington.
“Iran will inform its friends, including Russia, if it decides to hold negotiations with the United States,” the source said.
The official added that Iran is prepared to maintain full transparency with Moscow regarding any such developments.
The remarks come after Iran rejected a US proposal for a 48-hour ceasefire, opting instead to continue its response through military means. The United States had sought to arrange a temporary truce in the Middle East by relaying the proposal through a third-party country, but Iran did not provide a written reply.
