Iranian president advocates for strengthened cooperation with Russia
During a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the potential for enhancing cooperation between Iran and Russia, particularly in countering Western sanctions.
Pezeshkian stated, "We can make more efforts to strengthen our relations, especially in cooperation against the sanctions imposed on our countries," Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
He highlighted the ongoing struggle against US attempts to maintain its hegemony, noting that Washington seeks to undermine initiatives from Iran, Russia, and China.
The Iranian president pointed to collaborative efforts within BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, asserting that these alliances have objectives that diverge from those of the United States.
