Iranian president condoles death of IRGC intelligence chief in US-Israeli strike
Iran's President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has expressed his condolences following the death of Lieutenant General Majid Khademi, the head of intelligence for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Khademi, who was killed on April 6 in a US-Israeli airstrike, had recently been appointed to the post in June of the previous year.
In a statement shared via his Telegram channel, President Pezeshkian offered his sympathies to Khademi’s family, colleagues, and comrades in the IRGC.
“I, paying tribute to the valuable achievements of this dear martyr, offer my condolences to his esteemed family, colleagues and dear comrades in the IRGC,” reads the president’s statement.
He praised the late general for his significant contributions to Iran's national security and his "heroic role" during the Iran-Iraq War.
Khademi’s appointment as the head of IRGC intelligence followed the death of his predecessor, Mohammad Kazemi, who was killed in an Israeli strike during the 12-day war in the summer of 2025.
