Israel boosts military preparedness, closely monitors situation near Iran
Israeli forces are maintaining heightened vigilance as tensions around Iran continue to evolve, with the military placed on an elevated state of defensive readiness.
As reported by Israeli media, IDF spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin said the army is closely tracking all developments.
“I am aware of the publications regarding Iran over the past day and especially in the last few hours, and I would like to clarify: the Israel Defence Forces are closely monitoring developments,” he wrote on X.
Defrin noted that in recent days, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, has been holding regular situational assessments. “We are conducting continuous monitoring and are prepared for any developments. The Chief of the General Staff has ordered increased defensive readiness across all units,” he stated.
He also stressed that, at this time, there are no special instructions for Israel’s civilian population, and existing home-front safety guidelines remain unchanged. Defrin urged the public not to circulate rumours and to rely exclusively on official information from the Israeli military.
“The Israel Defence Forces are ready and will act responsibly to protect the security of Israel’s citizens. I will provide updates if there are any changes,” the general concluded.
