Israel calls EU sanctions “political vendetta” against settlers
Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has criticised the European Union’s decision to impose sanctions on Israeli organisations and settlers in the West Bank.
According to Caliber.Az, citing the Israeli ministry, the EU initially justified the sanctions by referring to “settler violence” but did not disclose the identities of those targeted.
The ministry said the publication of the list shows that those sanctioned are individuals and organisations involved in settlement activity and have no connection to violence.
When the EU initially announced its sanctions, it cited 'settler violence' but hid the targets' identities. Today's publication of the list proves why: the targeted individuals and organizations are simply engaged in settlement activities, with no connection to violence.

“This reveals a purely political agenda to deny Jews the right to live in Judea and Samaria. Penalizing Regavim just for exposing illegal EU construction in court proves this is a blatant political vendetta,” the ministry stated.
It further described the move as hypocrisy, accusing the EU of targeting law-abiding Israelis while ignoring what it called Palestinian Authority funding of terrorism under a “pay for slay” policy.
“Israel will never accept any attempt to deny Jews the right to live in their historical homeland,” the statement added.
