Israel strikes Hezbollah military sites in Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a new series of strikes on southern Lebanon on the night of December 8 to 9.
The targets were Hezbollah military facilities, Caliber.Az cites the IDF's statement on Telegram.
In particular, the attacks targeted a training camp that, according to the Israeli side, was used to train militants of the Radwan special forces unit.
"In addition, military structures and a launch site belonging to Hezbollah, used to advance terror attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel, were also struck," the IDF statement reads.
The IDF stated that placing such facilities in border areas and conducting military training there violates ceasefire arrangements between Israel and Lebanon and "constitutes a threat to the State of Israel.”
The Radwan Force, named after a slain commander, is Hezbollah's most elite unit, specialising in asymmetric warfare, infiltration, and large-scale ground assaults. Israel views it as the primary vector for any future invasion, justifying preemptive actions.
