Israel charges Galilee man over alleged plot to attack soldiers, ISIS allegiance
Israeli prosecutors have charged a 20-year-old man from the northern village of Nahf in the Galilee over an alleged plot to attack soldiers in Karmiel and his reported pledge of allegiance to ISIS.
According to the Northern District Prosecutor’s Office, Muhammad Abd al-Ghani is accused of swearing loyalty to the so-called Islamic State and attempting to acquire a handgun in preparation for an attack on Israeli military personnel, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.
Authorities said that during his arrest, police found posters and symbols in his room linked to the group, which were presented as evidence of his alleged ideological affiliation.
The case has been filed with the Nazareth District Court, where proceedings are set to begin.
