Israel drone strike kills Hezbollah rocket unit commander in southern Lebanon VIDEO
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that a drone strike targeted and killed a senior Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon.
Muhammad Adnan Mansour, who was reportedly in charge of Hezbollah's rocket unit in the Taybeh region, was the victim of the strike, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.
According to the IDF, Mansour had been responsible for orchestrating numerous rocket attacks on Israel's Upper Galilee during the ongoing conflict. The military released footage showing the moment of the strike, which it says successfully eliminated the threat posed by the commander and his unit.
Mansour’s death marks a significant development in the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, which has intensified over recent months.
Hezbollah, which has not yet responded to the strike, has long been a key player in the region's volatile security situation, maintaining a strong military presence in southern Lebanon. The group's rocket units have been involved in a series of escalations with Israel, leading to heightened fears of a broader regional conflict.
The IDF has vowed to continue its efforts to neutralize Hezbollah's military capabilities as tensions between the two sides remain high.
On April 1, Israel's military killed a senior operative associated with both Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, Hassan Bdair.
On March 29, the IDF announced an expansion of its ground operations in Rafah, targeting Hamas infrastructure and attempting to widen the buffer zone along the Gaza border. The military claims these efforts are crucial for limiting the capabilities of Hamas and securing the borders.
As the conflict continues to escalate, both international figures and Israeli activists are calling for a ceasefire and a potential hostage exchange deal.
