Israel, Hamas suspend prisoner swap talks

Negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement on a prisoner exchange have been suspended due to the parties' contradictions.

According to Gazeta.ru, this was reported by Kan TV and radio station, citing a source.          

According to the source, Egypt and Qatar, acting as mediators, the main condition was the end of hostilities in exchange for the release of Israeli hostages. The disagreement was caused by the parties' disagreement over the term "end of war" and Israel's refusal to release some terrorists, which Hamas insisted on.

"Egypt and Qatar have supported Hamas's position that does not allow for a deal with Israel," the sources said.
