Israel reports destruction of over 150 underground Hamas sites

Israeli armed forces destroyed more than 150 tunnels and other underground facilities of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas during a ground operation in the Gaza Strip.

Jonathan Conricus, press secretary of the Israel Defense Forces in reserve, made the relevant remarks at a briefing, TASS reports.

“We are also looking for tunnels, underground Hamas infrastructure, which we know is very important to them,” he said. “We destroyed, in most cases, more than 150 tunnels and complexes using explosives,” he added.

According to him, Hamas militants use the tunnels to store ammunition and also to carry out surprise attacks on the Israeli military.
