Israel says Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander eliminated PHOTO
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has eliminated a Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander who infiltrated Kibbutz Be’eri during the October 7 attack and participated in the abduction of an Israeli civilian.
In a post on Telegram, the IDF said its forces carried out a strike on August 16 in the Khan Yunis area targeting Tareq Anwar Khamis Ra’i, a company commander in the supply unit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organisation, Caliber.Az reports.
The military made clear that Ra’i entered Kibbutz Be’eri during the October 7 massacre and took part in abducting an Israeli civilian.

According to the military, Ra’i had recently been involved in planning and advancing attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops, and was targeted to eliminate what it described as an immediate threat.
The military stated that measures were taken before the strike to reduce the risk to civilians, including the deployment of precision-guided munitions and aerial surveillance.
IDF forces operating under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the existing agreement and will continue carrying out operations against what the military describes as immediate threats.
