Israel says it struck Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon VIDEO
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have carried out a series of strikes in southern Lebanon targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and a vehicle allegedly transporting weapons.
The IDF said the operations were in response to what it called repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement and attacks on Israeli troops, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the military, approximately 10 Hezbollah sites were struck on July 2 in the areas of Bint Jbeil, Beit Yahoun, Kounine and Braachit. The facilities were being used by Hezbollah to support attacks against Israeli forces operating in the security zone.
The military further noted that overnight, troops identified a Hezbollah cell transporting weapons in a truck near the security zone. The vehicle was subsequently targeted in an airstrike, which the IDF said was carried out to eliminate a threat to its soldiers.
The IDF added that secondary explosions were observed after the strike, which it said indicated the truck had been carrying weapons.
The military reiterated that it will continue operations to counter threats against its troops and Israeli civilians.
