Israel vows to tighten control along southern Lebanon border
Amid ongoing clashes with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz outlined measures to increase Israel’s control along the northern border.
Katz said that once military operations conclude, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) would establish a defensive security zone inside Lebanon, extending control up to the Litani River, aimed at countering anti-tank missile threats, Caliber.Az reports per Israeli media.
He also stated that residents who had evacuated from southern Lebanon would not be allowed to return to areas south of the Litani River until security in northern Israel is ensured. Katz added that some villages near the border would face demolition, citing previous operations in Gaza, as part of efforts to reduce threats along the frontier.
