Israeli FM says Gaza war should end on Trump’s terms
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has said Israel seeks to end the Gaza war based on US President Donald Trump’s initiative and in line with principles approved by the country’s security cabinet, according to a statement from Israel’s Foreign Ministry.
According to the statement, Sa’ar stressed that Israel desires peace but cannot compromise on the security of the state and its citizens, Caliber.Az reports.
On Sunday, September 7, it was revealed that Trump had put forward a comprehensive proposal aimed at securing the release of all hostages and ending the war.
Reports said the terms would involve the return of all 48 hostages — both alive and dead — on the first day of a ceasefire. In exchange, Israel would cancel its planned operation to capture Gaza City.
The draft agreement also includes the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners and detainees, including hundreds serving life sentences.
According to reports, negotiations on ending the war would begin immediately under Trump’s leadership once the ceasefire takes effect. Fighting would not resume as long as talks continue.
