Israeli strike kills Hezbollah member in southern Lebanon, IDF says
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it carried out a strike on November 16 in the Mansouri area of southern Lebanon, killing Hezbollah member Muhammad Ali Shuweikh.
In a statement, the IDF described Shuweikh as “the local representative of Hezbollah in the Mansouri area,” alleging he was responsible for communication between the group and residents “regarding financial and military subjects” and had “operated to seize private assets for terror use,” Caliber.Az reports.
According to the IDF, his activities “constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.” The military added that “the IDF will continue to operate to remove any threat and defend the State of Israel.”
Lebanese media earlier reported that an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle in the village of Al-Mansouri, killing two Hezbollah commanders. Local outlets identified one of the individuals killed as Muhammad Shuweikh, saying he was the principal of a state school in the area.
