ISW: Turkish airstrikes hit SDF positions in northern Syria VIDEO / MAP
Turkish aircraft launched airstrikes on Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) positions along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River on February 18.
The attacks, which targeted multiple SDF sites, included rocket launch pads and tunnels located east of Jarabulus, a town in northern Syria, Caliber.Az reports via ISW.
Meanwhile, the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) intensified its assault on SDF positions along the Peace Spring frontlines. Reports from anti-SDF media indicated that SNA artillery struck SDF positions near Makhlat, located north of Raqqa, as part of a wider campaign in the region.
In a separate development, Türkiye and the SNA continued their offensive near the Qara Qozak Bridge. Anti-SDF outlets claimed that Turkish aircraft targeted an SDF drone unit headquarters near the village of Kharous, resulting in the deaths of at least eighteen SDF fighters.
Additionally, airstrikes and artillery fire were reported near the town of Sarrin, a key site in the region, where the ongoing strikes are believed to be aimed at isolating SDF forces at the bridgehead.
The violence highlights the ongoing tensions in northern Syria, where Türkiye and SDF-aligned forces have been engaged in a protracted conflict. The situation remains fluid as military operations continue across the region.
