Japan collects and analyses data on North Korea's actions Chief Cabinet Secretary says
Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi has said North Korea may launch missiles, place a satellite into orbit, or conduct a nuclear test.
Hayashi made these remarks in response to a question regarding the results of South Korean intelligence, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"The Japanese government always carefully collects and analyses relevant data," he stated by refraining from providing further comments regarding reports from Seoul.
He reiterated a position previously expressed in Tokyo, stating that, in Tokyo's view, North Korea may carry out further provocative actions, such as launching various types of missiles, placing a satellite into orbit, or conducting a nuclear test.
Earlier, Yonhap reported that, according to information from South Korean military intelligence, North Korea has completed some internal preparation at its Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site.
In particular, the internal preparation for nuclear testing at the Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site is complete, and that preparation related to the launch of long-range ballistic missiles, including space rockets and intercontinental ballistic missiles, is nearly finished.
Seoul sources believe that an intercontinental ballistic missile may be launched to test re-entry technology. Military officials think that this could take place either before or after the US presidential election.
