Japanese PM welcomes Armenia-Azerbaijan peace, hopes for long-term stability
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba in Tokyo, where Ishiba welcomed the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Ishiba expressed hope that the recent peace agreements would lead to long-term and stable peace in the region, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The premier emphasised that it presents a valuable opportunity for the steady development of Armenia-Japan relations and the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
He noted that Japan attaches great importance to strengthening friendly ties with Armenia and implementing joint initiatives across various sectors.
Ishiba also welcomed the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing hope for long-term and stable peace in the region.
Pashinyan expressed confidence that the visit would significantly boost Japanese business investment in Armenia.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed key areas of Armenia-Japan cooperation, including expanding economic ties and investment interactions, deepening collaboration in education, science, culture, and tourism.
The two sides also exchanged views on further steps to ensure regional peace and stability.
