Karabakh, East Zangazur to become Azerbaijan’s key tourist zones - minister

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health Teymur Musayev has said that Karabakh and East Zangazur will become the country’s key tourist zones in the coming years.

Addressing the event on "Prospects for health tourism development in Azerbaijan" held on the sidelines of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Investment Forum, Minister Musayev noted that the liberated territories have great potential in the development of health tourism and ecotourism, Report informs.

"Health tourism is one of the most developing forms of tourism sector. Special attention is paid to the creation of tourist infrastructure as part of the reconstruction and renovation works in the liberated territories. Natural resources, climatic conditions, historical heritage create unique opportunities for the development of health tourism in these territories. I believe that in the future the tourism potential of this region will contribute to the development of the economy, Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur will become the main tourist zones of the country," the minister added.
