Karabakh University gears up: 99% of student registration completed
Before the start of the September conference for education workers in Baku, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev announced that 99% of students at Karabakh University had completed their registration.
The minister stated that from September 14-15, students will begin arriving in Khankendi from the capital and other cities, and will be accommodated in dormitories, Caliber.Az reports.
“Classes will commence on September 23, as the week prior will be dedicated to familiarising students with the city, explaining safety rules, etc. For students of Karabakh University, a stipend increase of 100-150 manats ($58-88) is provided,” the minister noted.
The Karabakh University was launched by an Order signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on November 28, 2023.
The university was established to address the demand for highly qualified professionals in the region and to maintain the historical educational traditions of the area. It operates under the Ministry of Science and Education as a public legal entity.
Initially, the university will offer programs across six faculties: Pedagogical, Humanitarian, Economic, Social Sciences, Art, Engineering, and Tourism.
For the 2024/2025 academic year, Karabakh University plans to enrol 1,120 students across 27 specialities, reflecting its commitment to broadening educational opportunities and supporting regional development.
