Kazakh Deputy PM responds to controversial "leak" of AZAL crew conversations VIDEO
Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the "leak" of communications between the crew of the crashed AZAL plane and air traffic controllers.
Bozumbayev emphasized that just because something appears online does not make it factual.
“The difference between what's posted on the internet and the actual content of the black boxes is significant,” he stated firmly.

The issue emerged after a Russian Telegram channel, Baza, with close ties to Russian security services, published a transcript of conversations between the Azerbaijani pilots and dispatchers from Grozny, Rostov-on-Don, and Aktau. This leak quickly gained traction across Russian media, sparking a wave of speculation by self-proclaimed experts. This shift in focus seemed designed to divert attention from the real issues surrounding the crash and the investigation, instead of addressing the actual causes.
Caliber.Az has conducted an in-depth analysis of how Russian outlets may be attempting to obscure the truth behind the tragic crash in Aktau, redirecting the narrative away from critical investigative matters.
The tragic crash occurred on December 25, 2024, when Azerbaijan Airlines flight 8243, en route from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia, crashed during an emergency landing attempt near Aktau. The flight carried 67 people, including 62 passengers and five crew members. Among the passengers were 42 Azerbaijani, 16 Russian, six Kazakh, and three Kyrgyz nationals. The crash claimed the lives of 38 people, while 29 survived, including two crew members, were rescued. Tragically, three of the five crew members perished.
