Kazakh president sends message of support to Jordan amid Middle East tensions
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a message to King Abdullah II of Jordan, expressing support and solidarity with the Jordanian people amid the tense situation in the Middle East, Akorda reports.
The message notes that the Kazakh leader is closely monitoring developments and urges restraint from actions that could lead to further escalation.
Tokayev emphasised that international conflicts should be resolved exclusively through diplomatic means.
This outreach to Jordan comes amid ongoing US-Israeli strikes on Iran, which killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on February 28. In response, Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting US military bases across the region, including sites in Jordan. Jordanian forces intercepted the missiles and reported debris impacts, but no casualties were reported.
