Kazakhstan expands crude supply to Germany amid rising pipeline capacity
Kazakhstan shipped 225,000 tons of crude oil to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline system in October 2025, representing a 25% increase compared to September.
“In October 2025, JSC KazTransOil delivered 225,000 tons of Kazakh oil into PJSC Transneft’s trunk pipeline system at the Adamova Zastava delivery point for onward shipment to Germany,” the company confirmed in response to an inquiry, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Kazakhstan has been exporting oil to Germany via the Adamova Zastava delivery point since 2023. Initially, KazMunayGas projected 2025 deliveries at 1.5 million tons, matching the total exported in 2024. Subsequent reports indicated plans to raise the annual volume to 2 million tons, though KMG chairman Askhat Khassenov later stated the target for 2025 was set at 1.7 million tons.
Ongoing discussions with Russia aim to further increase Kazakhstan’s oil shipments to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline. Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov noted that the technical capacity of the pipeline system could allow exports to rise to 2.5 million tons per year.
