Key economic talks between Azerbaijan, Russia underway in Zangilan
The 24th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation has got underway in Zangilan, Azerbaijan.
The session is focused on reviewing the current state of trade and economic relations between the two countries and discussing prospects for bilateral cooperation, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Key agenda items include increasing trade turnover, expanding industrial cooperation, and strengthening collaboration in transport and logistics, energy, agriculture, and other sectors.
The commission is co-chaired by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.
Discussions are also expected to address the development of cooperation within the International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC), the expansion of transit opportunities, and joint participation in regional projects.
The meeting is scheduled to conclude with the signing of documents covering various areas of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.
The 23rd session of the commission was held on August 22, 2025, in Astrakhan, Russia.
