Kremlin: Russian special envoy briefed Putin on US trip outcomes
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Russian special envoy Kirill Dmitriev briefed President Vladimir Putin on the results of his trip to the United States, and the information has already been analysed.
According to Peskov, Russian and US officials, on Putin’s instructions, have already communicated following Dmitriev’s visit, Caliber.Az reports, citing TASS.
He stated that Yuri Ushakov, the Russian presidential aide, had represented Russia during the phone contacts with the US that occurred after Dmitriev’s trip, and that Russia and the US had agreed to continue dialogue following Dmitriev’s visit to Miami.
Peskov also confirmed that the topic of Ukraine’s settlement was discussed during Putin’s meeting with business representatives.
Turning to regional security, he noted that any increase in military spending in the Asia-Pacific should be cautious so as not to provoke escalation, referring to Japan’s growing defence budget.
Peskov further addressed the statement by Ukrainian Presidential Office advisor Mykhailo Podolyak that Ukraine lacks funds for elections, saying: “Kyiv resorts to all sorts of tricks to obtain money from the West.”
The spokesperson added that President Putin will hold a meeting on the state armament program.
