Kuwait foils terrorist plot linked to Hezbollah, 10 arrested
The Ministry of Interior of Kuwait announced that its State Security Service has successfully foiled a terrorist plot targeting critical infrastructure in the country.
Some 10 Kuwaiti citizens reportedly affiliated with a terrorist group linked to the banned Hezbollah were arrested following intensive surveillance and security investigations. Authorities said the suspects had been coordinating with foreign entities to provide them with the coordinates of key sites, posing a direct threat to national security, Caliber.Az reports via Kuwait's media outlet.
The ministry described the arrests as a pre-emptive strike that dismantled sleeper cells aiming to destabilise the country. Investigations reportedly revealed that the suspects received training abroad in Hezbollah camps, including instruction on weapons use and drone operations, preparing for sabotage activities designed to undermine Kuwait’s sovereignty and spread fear within society.
The ministry underscored that it will act firmly against anyone attempting to harm national security or collaborating with terrorist groups, warning that it will not hesitate to deliver strong measures against any threats to the country’s safety and sovereignty.
