Large fire breaks out at plastic factory in Thailand Photo
A large fire has broken out at a plastic packaging factory in Thailand's Phetchaburi province, located in the southern part of central Thailand.
According to the Bangkok Post, the blaze spread rapidly due to the presence of flammable substances, including solvents and alcohol, generating thick black smoke.
More than ten fire crews, including emergency response teams and local volunteers, were deployed to tackle the blaze.
Firefighters were forced to use an excavator to break through the factory walls in order to gain access and direct water inside. The fire remained out of control for over two hours.
Damage has been estimated in the millions of baht. This marks the third major fire at the facility in recent years. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.
