Latvia, Romania to raise Russian drone incidents at NATO summit
Latvia and Romania are set to address the issue of Russian drones entering their territories at the highest level within NATO.
The discussions are being initiated at the request of both countries, in response to recent incidents involving the downing of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Latvia and Romania, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs noted that similar drone incursions have previously occurred in other NATO member states, including Poland and Romania. He emphasized the need for the alliance to develop a unified and decisive strategy to counter these emerging threats.
"The alliance must craft a more coherent strategy to address these new challenges, standardize response procedures, and ensure a more robust and unified reaction," Rinkēvičs stated.
