Libyan Prime Minister Dibeyba calls for "starting oil sales"

Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dibeybe called for the resumption of oil sales in the country and then the creation of an income distribution mechanism.

Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Dibeybe, made evaluations about the interrupted oil sales in the country since 17 April at the Council of Ministers meeting held in the capital Tripoli, TRT Haber reports.

Dibeybe said, "First, oil sales need to start. Then an agreement should be reached on the distribution mechanism of oil revenues so that the rising energy prices in the world can be benefited." used the expressions.

Dibeybe said that the National Unity Government still continues to extend its hand for peace and rejects all kinds of voices regarding the outbreak of conflict among the Libyans. We will continue to stay.” said.

Reiterating that they will not be a partner in the outbreak of a new war in the country, Dibeybe said, " We will continue to defend the Libyan people with peace, albeit at the cost of our lives." he said.

Dibeyba also urged Libyans to "talk about the elections and create a constitutional basis for the holding of these elections, which will complete the transitional period".

"Production and export were stopped due to force majeure"

On April 17-18, Libyan National Petroleum Corporation announced that production and exports had stopped by declaring "force majeure" in the Fil and Sherara oil fields in the south of the country and the ports of Zeytuna and Brega in the east.

Sharara, with a daily production capacity of 300 thousand barrels of crude oil, is known as Libya's largest oil field. Approximately 125 thousand barrels of oil are produced daily at the Fil Oil Field.

More than 60 percent of Libya's oil exports are carried out from the ports of Brega, Ras Lanuf, Zeytuna and Sidra.
