Lithuania vows to comprehensively help Ukraine up to victory
Lithuania will provide Ukraine with military, humanitarian and financial assistance until it achieves victory in the ongoing Russian war.
The statement came from President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, according to Interfax.
“Today, Lithuania supports Ukraine with all its capabilities: it provides and will continue to provide military, humanitarian and financial assistance right up to victory,” he said in his speech from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during a plenary session on July 28.
He noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, all of Lithuania has been united by a great desire to help Ukraine, while common efforts are being made not only by the authorities but also by ordinary Lithuanians, representatives of business and non-governmental organizations.
“Lithuania will help Ukraine win this war. We are well aware of the threat posed by Russia's imperial ambitions to the security of the entire region. Historical experience teaches that the Moscow tyrant must be stopped in time. We cannot afford to repeat old mistakes,” the Lithuanian president said.
Nauseda assured that Lithuania would continue to work with partners and allies to maintain Western focus, secure long-term support for Ukraine, and limit Russia's ability to continue this war.
