Mass burial, including child's remains, discovered in Khojaly UPDATED
Excavations in the centre of Khojaly, near the former carpet factory, have uncovered a mass grave.
Representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office, the National Academy of Sciences, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the State Commission for Prisoners, Missing Persons and Hostages, as well as forensic experts from the Ministry of Health, arrived at the site, the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office told Caliber.Az.
The bone remains have been sent for examination.
At least 4 human skeletons were found, one of them a 4-5-year-old child, according to preliminary results. These people were tortured and tormented during their lives, and their hands were tied. The grave is more than 25 years old.
Investigations are ongoing.

A mass grave has been revealed in Azerbaijan’s Khojaly district.
The burial was revealed during repair and construction work, APA reports.
Earlier, a new mass grave site has been unearthed in the Asgaran settlement of the Khojaly district.
The skeletal remains found on the site are believed to belong to a minimum of eight individuals - victims of the Khojaly Massacre in February 1992.
After the 44-day second Karabakh war in 2020, graves were found in the territory of Shusha prison and Dashalti village, Sarijali village of Aghdam district, Edilli village of Khojavend district, Farrukh village of Khojaly district, Yukhari Seyidahmadli village of Fuzuli district and Bashlibel village of Kalbajar district. To date, the remains of about 400 Azerbaijani people have been found there.
