Media: Armenia’s top officials resign after heated meeting with PM Pashinyan
Armenia's Minister of Infrastructure and the head of the tax authorities have tendered their resignations after a tough conversation with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Badasyan and Sanosyan were summoned to an emergency meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Moreover, 24news reports that the head of the Interior Ministry Vahe Ghazaryan also resigned. In addition, again unconfirmed, the head of the Investigative Committee Argishti Kyaramyan followed the example of his colleagues.
There is no official confirmation of the high-profile resignations yet. The Prime Minister's decision is expected soon.
It is indicative that all this is taking place after Pashinyan's recent ‘lambasting’ of the security forces during a Cabinet meeting.
To recall, on November 14, Pashinyan stated about the "anti-state" mindset of the Armenian society. As the politician pointed out, Armenians have lived in artificially created states for at least 600 years. Of these, Armenia has had the experience of an independent state for only 35 years.
