TASS: Korona Pay suspends money transfers from Azerbaijan to Russia

Money transfers from Azerbaijan to Russia via the Korona Pay (Zolotaya Korona) payment system are currently unavailable, TASS reports.

The report said the service also no longer allows transfers from Russia to Georgia and Kazakhstan.

Representatives of Unibank and Yelo Bank noted that although they support the Korona Pay system, transfers from Azerbaijan to Russia are temporarily unavailable due to service disruptions.

VTB Azerbaijan also made it clear that it does not process transfers through the payment system.

Korona Pay application removed most other international transfer destinations.

Users attempting to send money to Georgia or Kazakhstan receive an error message.

At present, Korona Pay transfers are available only to Uzbekistan, Türkiye, and Kyrgyzstan.

The restrictions were reportedly introduced amid European Union sanctions.
