Media: Macron's loud diplomacy fails to deliver tangible results
French President Emmanuel Macron's diplomatic approach continues to be marked by ambitious rhetoric but limited tangible results, as noted by German media outlet RND.
"Thus, the problem with Macron's diplomatic efforts remains the same as it has been for years: they generate a lot of noise but achieve little in concrete terms," the article says.
His calls for increased action in support of Ukraine contrast sharply with statistics from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, which place France only tenth in overall aid contributions, amounting to 4.89 billion euros.
The publication also points out the inconsistency in Macron's stance. In the early days of the conflict, Macron faced backlash for advocating "security guarantees" for Russia. However, just a year later, his position seemed to shift dramatically when he suggested the possibility of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine. This abrupt change highlights the unpredictability that has characterized his approach to diplomacy.
