Media: Pashinyan can't find helmsman for Armenia's economy
The Yerevan-based Hraparak newspaper has written an article claiming that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan cannot find a suitable candidate for the post of economy minister.
“About a week ago, Vahan Kerobyan resigned as Armenia's Minister of Economy. Finding a replacement for the vacant ministerial post has become a challenge for Nikol Pashinyan. We learned from official sources that they cannot find a suitable candidate,” Caliber.Az quotes Hraparak as saying.
"The names of Civil Contract Party MPs Gevorg Papoyan and Babken Tunyan have been circulated in the press.
However, Pashinyan does not intend to take them out of the parliament, as there are a number of MPs in the legislative body who are more or less aware of the legislation. And Tunyan does not even want to hold the post of minister.
Most likely, Artak Kamalyan, a member of the board of industry and agro-industrial complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), will be appointed minister. His term of office expired a few days ago. He was sent to the EEC on February 1, 2020, for a term of 4 years. Prior to that, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Economy. Artak Kamalyan will be replaced in the EEC board by Gohar Barseghyan, who has been heading the Department of Integration Development for several years," the newspaper writes.
