Media: Rail tankers burning near major Russian refinery PHOTO / VIDEO
A fire broke out in the southern Russian town of Slavyansk-on-Kuban, where railway fuel tankers were seen burning near a major oil refinery, according to open-source intelligence reports and eyewitness footage.
OSINT analyst ASTRA said the blaze likely involved one or more rail tank cars located close to the Slavyansk-EKO LLC refinery, citing videos circulating online.

Local residents reported what they described as an attack on the facility, the outlet said. However, regional authorities offered a more limited account of the incident.
The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region said debris had fallen onto the grounds of a residential apartment building in the city, adding that no casualties were recorded.
The refinery, one of Russia’s largest independent oil-processing facilities, is located in Slavyansk-on-Kuban and produces gasoline, diesel fuel and other petroleum products. It has an estimated processing capacity of between 4 million and 5 million tonnes of crude oil annually.
Accounting for roughly 9% of total refining capacity in Russia’s Southern Federal District, the plant is also a significant exporter of petroleum products shipped through Black Sea ports.
