Media: US sends convoys of military supplies, armoured vehicles to bolster forces in northern Syria
A convoy of 30 trucks, accompanied by military armoured vehicles, departed from the Qasrak base in the Al-Hasakah countryside in the early hours of January 5.
The convoy, which included US military personnel, made its way towards Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in the eastern Aleppo countryside, coinciding with the deployment of Coalition helicopters, Caliber.Az reports via SOHR.
This movement forms part of ongoing efforts by the International Coalition to bolster its presence in the region, with reinforcements heading to Kobani as new US bases are being established amid rising security concerns in northern Syria.
In a separate development, sources from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that a US military convoy of 20 trucks entered Syria from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq through the Al-Waleed border crossing.
The trucks were carrying a mix of supplies, including closed boxes, concrete blocks, fuel tankers, and military vehicles, en route to the Tal Baydar and Qasrak bases in the Al-Hasakah countryside.
Meanwhile, another convoy of 20 closed trucks departed from Qasrak base, heading towards Ain Al-Arab (Kobani), further reinforcing the region amid the ongoing tensions.
Note that, US is reportedly constructing a new military base in northern Syria to assist the Syrian Kurdish group YPG, a faction of the PKK terrorist organization, which has faced increasing pressure from Türkiye-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) forces following the fall of Bashar Assad's regime.
Local journalists have confirmed that 13 trucks, displaying US flags and carrying concrete construction blocks, arrived in Ain al-Arab, also known as Kobani, a key stronghold of the PKK/YPG.
Sources have indicated that the US military is relocating construction materials, including concrete blocks and other essential supplies, from a base in neighbouring Iraq to support the building of the new facility in Syria.
