The affected areas include Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan. In total, 787 hectares of land were cleared.

The demining efforts follow the liberation of Azerbaijani territories previously occupied by Armenia, with reports suggesting that landmines were deliberately planted by Armenia as part of its military strategy.
