Moldova signs four-year partnership programme with NATO
The Moldovan government has approved the Individually Tailored Partnership Programmes (ITPP) for 2025-2028.
Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi highlighted the strategic goals of the document, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"Moldova must be prepared to prevent and counter hybrid threats through a comprehensive national approach. Moldova and NATO will also expand their cooperation to address common security challenges," he said.
While presenting the programme at a governmental meeting, Popșoi emphasised that the document outlines several strategic objectives: deepening political dialogue and practical cooperation to enhance awareness and understanding of security-related issues.
Moldova will adopt Euro-Atlantic standards within its defence and security institutions, strengthen its defence capabilities, and improve operational interoperability with NATO partners and allies.
Popșoi specifically noted that the implementation of the programme is fully in line with Moldova's neutral status.
ITPP marks a new phase in Moldova-NATO relations, which will begin in 2025. Prior to this, cooperation had been based on the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) with NATO. The first such plan was signed by Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin in Brussels in 2006, after which it was annually supplemented and extended.
